Simi Fehoko, a former wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, will play his first game back with the Los Angeles Chargers as they prepare for the postseason. The Chargers hope Fehoko, who is the team’s main blocking receiver, can boost their running game despite his elbow injury that put him on injured reserve.

After the Dallas Cowboys cut Fehoko last season, the Steelers added him to their practice squad; however, the Chargers cut him from the practice squad. Fehoko has remained a member of the Chargers’ active roster ever since.

The 27-year-old, who attended Stanford, was selected by the Cowboys in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Despite just having seven career receptions for 94 yards and one touchdown, Fehoko’s worth extends beyond his ability to run routes.

In addition to his job as a blocker, Fehoko also plays on special teams, and since the Chargers’ identity is linked to their running game, he should help them.
