Due to his role in a hit-and-run accident that claimed the life of a 78-year-old veteran Marine, Louisiana State Police have filed an arrest warrant for Kyren Lacy, the star wide receiver for LSU.
According to ESPN, Lacy is charged with creating a collision that killed Herman Hall and injured two others before escaping the scene without providing assistance or contacting the police.
According to the website, Lacy will face charges of felony hit-and-run, negligent homicide, and careless vehicle operation from Louisiana State Police. According to ESPN, authorities have been in communication with Lacy’s lawyer regarding his surrender.
According to ESPN, state police assert that Lacy was operating a 2023 Dodge Charger when he crossed the centerline and entered the northbound lane in a zone that was designated for no-passing, recklessly passing several cars at a high speed.
According to the police, a pickup truck in the other lane braked and veered to the right to keep from colliding with the approaching Dodge head-on. According to reports, a Kia Cadenza was following the truck when it swerved to avoid the Charger, crossing the centerline and colliding with a Kia Sorento.
Lacy is accused by the police of driving away from the scene.
They claim that Hall was in the Sorento and has been identified as a former Marine. According to ESPN, the drivers of the Sorento and Cadenza suffered minor wounds.
According to the website, Rocky Arceneaux, Lacy’s agent, stated that his client is completely assisting the police.
According to reports, Arceneaux stated, “We respect the need for a full and thorough investigation, but we firmly believe that the facts will ultimately demonstrate the truth.”
Lacy caught 58 passes for nine touchdowns and 866 yards.
According to ESPN, two days after the deadly collision, on December 19, he submitted his NFL Draft application.
