At the Southern Scuffle, reserve wrestlers put on an incredible show, with Connor Mirasola, Cole, and Zack Ryder—all of whom were gifted freshmen—winning individual titles. The Lions’ future appears to be endlessly bright thanks to the young standouts; they are currently the overwhelming favorites to win a national team championship and maybe multiple individual crowns.
With a 2-1 dual record this season, a defeat to Cal State Bakersfield (21-14) in their most recent dual on December 15, and a 13th-place finish at the Midlands Championships on December 29–30, Michigan State comes to Rec Hall to take on the Penn State machine.
