66 Macy’s stores, including a few in Pennsylvania, are closing.

Additionally, three additional Macy’s stores, all of which are mall-based, will close in addition to the Philadelphia location that is receiving a lot of attention.

The following Macy’s locations are shutting, in addition to the one at 1300 Market St. in Philadelphia:

According to Macy’s, the first quarter of 2025 is when the majority of the 66 stores are anticipated to close.

The closures are a part of a three-year plan to close 150 outlets, which was disclosed last year.

It’s never easy to close a store, but as part of our Bold New Chapter strategy, we are closing underperforming Macy’s locations to concentrate our efforts and give priority to investments in our future locations, where customers are already reacting favorably to improved product offerings and higher-level service, according to a news release from Tony Spring, chairman and CEO of Macy’s.

After closing in 2020, a Macy’s store at the Harrisburg Mall in Swatara Township was demolished. The Capital City Mall in Lower Allen Township still has a Macy’s store.
