Cornerback Cory Trice Jr. and defensive tackle Montravius Adams are not playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Cincinnati Bengals. Both players have 21 days left to recover from their injuries, but this week won’t be that time.
Even though Trice recovered from his hamstring injury three weeks ago, he has missed the last three games. The Steelers will rule him out for the season if he is not reinstated from the injured list by Thursday.
Adams, on the other hand, is recovering from a meniscus tear. It will be at least another week before Adams returns to the field from that injury, despite his optimism that he will play earlier this week. Dean Lowry will serve as the Steelers’ backup nose tackle in the interim.
Alex Highsmith, who is recovering from an ankle injury, was also listed as doubtful. He still appears to be a week away from playing again. Due to a significant low ankle sprain, he has missed the last two games.
