Facebook is the topic of conversation. It appears that the gazillionaire owner has determined that lying on Facebook is OK. Facebook, now known as Meta (though accuracy is so 20th century), will no longer expose those who lie, so we may say whatever we want.

Mark Zuckerberg had a change of heart after visiting what one of my favorite authors, Jeff Tiedrich, refers to as the tacky Florida golf resort and contributing $1 million to the owner’s inauguration fund.

He could see which way the wind was blowing, at least.

According to The New York Times, Zuckerberg admitted that his move would result in more inaccurate and deceptive content on the biggest social network in the world.

He doesn’t care, though. Be gone, truth!

Make sure to visit my Facebook page, where I vividly recount my recent journey to Greenland aboard the large Trump aircraft. I might even dig out some (doctored) pictures of Intuit waving American flags and signs saying, “Take us, please.”

The meandering tirade about seizing Greenland, the Panama Canal, and possibly Canada made me think of someone I used to know. Actually, it happened so long ago that I can’t recall her name.

Both she and I were students, and we spent six weeks in London earning credits for our master’s degrees. We became casual acquaintances and spent our free time seeing certain attractions.

This anonymous woman wore amaple leaf pins all the time. And I mean always.

I once questioned her about why she was so determined to establish a connection with her Canadian roots. I was blown away by her response.

I wear it to avoid giving the impression that I’m American.

All right, I thought. Tell me your true feelings.

However, I understand. Yes, I do. The great majority of Canadians are opposed to joining the United States. After all, they provide considerable benefits for new parents and universal health care. Their nation saw 778 killings in 2023, compared to a total of 19,252 in 2022.

Seven reasons why Canadians want to stay in their nation were provided to the New York Times by a Windsor man. Numbers 4 and 5 are as follows: Since there are five parties in the House of Commons, it would be challenging for us to learn to despise those who vote differently from us.

I’m sorry, but we would need to become less courteous.

After that, if you’re still curious about how our Canadian neighbors perceive us, read this from the Calgary Herald: President-elect Donald Trump wants us to embrace his plan to become a territory, state, client, superstore, or other convenient American outlet.

That sentence is fantastic. I enjoy the aforementioned Tiedrich, who writes on politics every day, since I love any sentence that makes me laugh. (I will caution you not to search up Tiedrich if you voted for the candidate who will take office later this month. Clearly, he is not one of you. Additionally, he frequently uses language or phrases that would never be used in my mother’s home.

In order to get ready for my journey to Portofinoon on the Italian Riviera, I must now bid adieu to everything Canadian. I just purchased a house there. (For more information, see Facebook.) However, I’ll start by sharing something that is unrelated to the previous points. I find it fascinating, therefore I share it.

Here it is: Women in America have tattoos at a higher rate than men.

What? How is that possible?

There were no tattoos in my generation. (Yeah, yeah, everyone has one or two uncles who ended up with the name of a previous sweetheart on their left arm after drinking too much one night while on leave during World War II.)

However, according to the Pew Research Center, 38% of women in America today (excluding Greenland and Canada) have tattoos, compared to just 27% of men.

That’s the reality. Indeed, it is. However, if you read it on Facebook, you would never be certain.
