The National Weather Service issued a revised wind advisory for Carbon and Monroe counties on Wednesday at 7:06 p.m., which is in effect from Thursday at 1 a.m. to Friday at 1 a.m.
“Northwest winds 20 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 to 55 mph expected,” the weather service reports.
“Unsecured objects will be buffeted by gusty gusts. There could be a few power outages and tree branches being blown down. If safeguards are not followed, the cold wind chills, which can drop as low as 10 below zero, could cause hypothermia. With extended exposure, wind chill values can cause hypothermia, according to the weather agency. Strong winds like these can make driving challenging, particularly for well-known cars. Be especially careful. Protect outdoor items. Be careful when you’re outside. Put on gloves, a hat, and clothes that are acceptable. As much as possible, keep pets inside.
