After an erratic 18-week season, the Pittsburgh Steelers will play their final regular season game on Saturday against the Cincinnati Bengals. They still don’t know who their playoff opponent will be, though, and based on Saturday’s results, it could be any of three clubs.

First, a third game against the Baltimore Ravens, a rematch with the Los Angeles Chargers, or a trip to play the Houston Texans are the only three opponents the Steelers may get.

The Ravens are eliminated as a potential opponent if the Steelers win. But losing to the Bengals is the first step toward returning to Baltimore. The Chargers would then need to defeat the Raiders on Sunday, which would force the Steelers to travel to Baltimore and lower them to the sixth seed.

The Steelers must defeat the Bengals in order to travel to Houston. The Ravens would also need to defeat the Cleveland Browns in order to secure the AFC North. The Steelers will get the fifth seed in that case. If the Chargers lose to the Raiders, the Steelers can still win this even if they lose.

Finally, in order for the Steelers to get the third seed and play the Chargers, they would need to defeat the Bengals and the Ravens would need to lose to the Browns. Acrisure Stadium will host that match if that occurs.

With three different opponents, the Steelers might finish as the third, fifth, or sixth seed overall in the playoffs. By the end of Saturday, everything will be much more obvious, and the Steelers may know who they will play in the playoffs the following week.
