This holiday season, residents in Susquehanna Township might see drones flying over their homes, but not so frequently. This has nothing to do with the bizarre occurrences that are occurring all across the East Coast.
As the township is ready to start a drainage rehabilitation project in the Progress Area neighborhood, police said Monday that drone scans will be conducted from December 24 to January 3.
Through the installation of walkways, new stormwater infrastructure, and the replacement of the Wood Street culvert, the project seeks to address persistent flooding issues in the residential sector of Susquehanna Township.
If the weather permits, surveys will be carried out on Wood Street, Sylvan Place, Schoolhouse Lane, and Shell Street. Residents won’t be significantly impacted by the surveys, according to the police.
In recent weeks, hundreds of drones have been seen flying over homes to military locations, making Central Pennsylvanians and many others on the East Coast vigilant about them. The reasons behind the sightings are still unknown, but the U.S. government is looking into them, including whether or not they were all drones.
