BALTIMORE –Sources inform PennLive that Joey Porter Jr., a cornerback for the Pittsburgh Steelers, has a PCL sprain. The Steelers are hopeful that Porter will make a comeback for the playoffs, despite the fact that his injury will probably keep him out for the remainder of the regular season.

The three weeks leading up to the playoffs’ Wild Card round will be good for the Steelers. The preliminary schedule indicates that Porter will be able to play that week despite missing games against the Cincinnati Bengals and Kansas City Chiefs, however it will depend on how his knee heals.

James Pierre will fill in for him until then. Donte Jackson missed time because of a back problem, as did Cory Trice. If Jackson is unable to play, it appears like the Steelers may start Pierre and Trice against the Chiefs, which would further weaken an already thin secondary. In just four days, Pittsburgh will play the Chiefs, whom they must defeat to maintain their lead in the AFC North.
