Quarterback with the Pittsburgh SteelersRussell Wilson had only one thought when he saw the field’s center open.

Wilson remarked, “I believed I had a chance to reach the end zone.” I just got smacked while I tried to cut back. The ball came out just before I touched the ground. Not acceptable. Not possible.

Before Ravens defensive back Ar Darius Washington came in and forced a fumble from Wilson at the 4-yard line, Wilson had already gotten a glimpse of the end zone after taking off from the Ravens’ 23-yard line into acres of open field.

I was not interested in sliding there. Wilson remarked, “I thought we could get into the end zone, get a touchdown, and go for it.” They had a clever move.

For Washington, the open-field tackle’s difficulty rating against Wilson wasn’t very high.

It wasn’t too difficult. Actually, Washington said, that wasn’t that difficult at all.

After a 94-yard touchdown drive by the Ravens, which culminated in a 14-yard pass from quarterback Lamar Jackson to Rashod Bateman, Baltimore took a 14–7 lead that they never gave up.

According to Washington, the offense [went] down there and scored after the crowd got involved. When the offense went down and scored after the turnover, I felt there was going to be a change in momentum.

The victory tied Pittsburgh (10-5) for first place in the AFC North standings and guaranteed the Ravens a spot in the NFL playoffs.

It was the first of Wilson’s two crucial errors on Saturday.

He went 22-for-33 for 217 yards and two touchdowns as the Steelers lost to the Philadelphia Eagles 27–13 on December 15—their second straight loss in five days.

Wilson’s interception in the fourth quarter effectively ended the game, even though it was still within striking distance following the fumble.

Wilson was intercepted by Marlon Humphrey in a pass into the flats meant for MyCole Pruitt two plays after safety Minkah Fitzpatrick made his first interception in two years.

With 13:06 remaining in the fourth quarter, Humphrey ran unchallenged down the left sideline for 37 yards and scored his first career pick-six, giving the Ravens a 24–17 lead.

We did a great job getting back on track, in my opinion. Even late in the game, we had a chance. We were just harmed by the interception. Unfortunately, the ball stuck inside as I attempted to toss it to (Pruitt) on his front number.

Wilson claimed that they had made two important plays against us. Regretfully, I can’t allow that to occur.

To finish a run of three games in eleven days, the Steelers host the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day.

Wilson joined the Pittsburgh lineup on October 20 and is now 6-3 as a starter this season.
