“At 9:39 p.m., a lake effect snow band was moving into southern Cambria county, developing further towards the southeast at around 20 mph,” according to the weather service.

The following locations are affected by the alert: Central City, Beaverdale-Lloydell, Paint, Jerome, South Fork, Scalp Level, Sidman, Johnstown, Westmont, Windber, Belmont, Nanty-Glo, Portage, Geistown, Southmont, Vinco, Dale, East Conemaugh, and Salix-Beauty Line Park.
