BALTIMORE –Minkah Fitzpatrick, a safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers, ended his run of not making an interception. He hasn’t caught an interception in two seasons. On New Year’s Day in 2023, Fitzpatrick made his final interception against the Baltimore Ravens.
With the intervention, Fitzpatrick gave the Steelers a boost in this game. Due to DeShon Elliott’s injury, he is playing strong safety. Donte Jackson, Joey Porter Jr., and Elliott are all out by injuries, leaving Pittsburgh without three secondary starters.
Fitzpatrick has been plagued by the streak, but breaking it at least gets him some respect from some fans. Despite having a reputation for creating spectacular plays, the All-Pro safety missed almost two entire seasons without recording an interception.
