Pittsburgh –George Pickens, a wide receiver, will not play for the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday against the Baltimore Ravens. Pickens is still struggling to make a comeback due to a grade 2 hamstring issue.
During Thursday’s practice, Pickens was observed running off to the side. This indicates that he is getting close to making a comeback, but the Steelers are still hesitant to use him for an entire game because the strain is more severe than they first thought.
The week before the game against the Cleveland Browns, Pickens sustained the injury. He did not practice last week and missed the previous two weeks. Though it will be sorely missed if he doesn’t play against the Ravens, Pickens is at least moving now and looks like he might make a comeback shortly.
Pickens’ return would be a huge boost to a wide receiver room that desperately needs it, as the Steelers have struggled offensively without him in the lineup. However, they will need to find alternative production outlets for the time being.
