On Monday morning, Drew Allaran made the announcement that he is anticipated to return for the 2025 campaign. Additionally, Penn State used the transfer site on Monday night to secure a future target for Allar.

USC wide receiver Kyron Hudson made a verbal commitment to Penn State. On Monday night, he made his decision public on social media.

During the winter portal window, Hudson is James Franklin and his staff’s first addition to the transfer portal.

Following this past weekend’s visit to Penn State, Hudson made his commitment. Bear Alexander, a defensive tackle for USC and another Nittany Lions gateway target, was with him in Happy Valley.

A good addition to Penn State is Hudson. With the Trojans, he caught 38 passes for 462 yards and four touchdowns. In USC’s 33-30 victory over Penn State in Los Angeles, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound target, who is strong at the point of catch, had four receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown.

Back in Week One, Hudson also had one of the season’s best plays. His one-handed catch versus LSU demonstrated his abilities and went viral on SportsCenter.

Hudson should not be the lone wide receiver recruited through the portal for Penn State. The Nittany Lions are also anticipated to host Justin Bowick of Ball State and Eric Rivers of FIU. This season, Rivers amassed 62 receptions, 1,172 yards, and 12 touchdowns. In the FBS, Rivers’ yards and touchdowns rank fourth and fifth, respectively. Bowick, on the other hand, redshirted after just four games with 20 catches for 383 yards and three touchdowns.

Next season, Penn State will have to replace Tyler Warren, who won the Mackey Award with 88 receptions and 1,062 yards. Luke Reynolds, Andrew Rappleyea, and Khalil Dinkins are Allar’s tight end options. However, Allar’s outside options will be more varied with the arrival of Hudson and possibly more at receiver.
