     It was a weekend of split results for the Jefferson High Panther basketball teams.
     Thursday night the Townsend Bulldogs were in Pantherville for conference counters. The Lady Panthers came up short on a hard-fought game, and the JHS boys easily overcame the Bulldogs.
     Saturday the teams traveled to Deer Lodge for non-conference games and the fates reversed. The girls picked up a nice win and the boys suffered a disappointing two-point loss.

Vicki Kyler
     Vicki B. Kyler, 70, passed away in the company of her children January 10, 2010 at St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena after losing a courageous battle to cancer.  
     Vicki was born on August 28, 1939 in the Manhattan borough of New York City to Beatrice Kent and Pat Bennett.
     Born to a military family, Vicki lived all over the country while growing up and graduated high school in Okinawa, Japan.  Vicki moved to Boulder in the early 1970s; there she met and fell in love with

Boulder voters write in Gary Craft for Mayor

     Boulder has a new mayor with a familiar name, Mayor Craft.
     Gary Craft, who ran as a write-in candidate, was the choice of a majority of voters casting ballots Tuesday, November 3, to fill the seat vacated by the death of his brother, D.D. Craft. Due to illness, the former mayor had decided not to run for reelection and Rusty Giulio and Seth Pallister threw their hats into the ring in the spring. Gary Craft joined the race later as a write-in.

The Boulder Monitor
Founded in 1907 after combining two predecessors, the Monitor has served Jefferson County for more than a century. Current publisher, the Jefferson County Courier owned by David and Jan Anderson, bought the Monitor in March 2002. In 2007, the Monitor was awarded the prestigious Thomas Dimsdale Sweepstakes Award, emblematic of being the best weekly or small daily newspaper published in Montana that year.
The Jefferson County Courier
Founded in April 1997, the Courier was awarded the prestigious Thomas Dimsdale Sweepstakes Award for work published in 2000 and the National Newspaper Association Freedom of Information Award in 2004.
